Being a Proud Jew

I’m a proud second generation Jew who is black. I have raised the third generation with Jewish identities with strong religious training. They attended Day school. However, they don’t see Jews of Color portrayed in these wonderful conversations about living out loud as Jews. Both have suffered nasty comments at school because they are seen as “other.” I think Aish is a good platform to start addressing this disparity. It’s not only Jews with disabilities that are overlooked.

So true

Thank you for this warm and true commentary on when we Jews are open about who we really are, or when we slink around and try to merge. Viva la difference!
