Transcript for this would be yet another blessing.

Any full transcript for this brilliant, inspirational speech?

Rabbi Sacks Hits the Target

There are 3 kinds of Mitzvot in the Torah: (1) Rituals like the holidays, which give structure to our lives and vitality to our history; (2) Ethical guidelines like honesty in business and sharing with the less fortunate, which make our world pleasant and safe; (3) Disciplines like Kashrut, which strengthen our wills and cause us to be mindful. Taken together, they do all the things that Rabbi Sacks says they do.

Would it be possible to get a written transcript of the Commencement speech. "The Jewish Algorithum"? This speech while intended for young people, hit every nerve in my body. Besides one Aunt whose is 92 years old, I am the only person left in my family who is a practicing Jew. Every thing Rabbi Sacks said in his speech I said to myself several years ago and after a visit to Israel at 70 years old I made the commitment to become a contributing member of the tribe and have never been happier. Last year at 70 y.o. I made my Bat Mitzvah, so I can tell you, it's never too late. If there is any way to get a copy of the Rabbi's speach I would appreciate it. Shalom Barbara Johnson

So inspirational. So moving. Why didn't I hear him when I graduated in 1960? I wept.

Am learning to become a Rabbi - and this is JUST what I needed to hear!

It is one thing when you make up your mind to do something, and it is another when you are encouraged despite all odds and obstacles to overcome those fears of failure, and realize just as in this speech, that it is not just a whim or a fancy or a passing thought, but this dream I have of becoming a Rabbi is actually being THRUST upon me, and I know it is hard, and a challenge and a lot of reading which I absolutely love doing, and I am all the more geared up for it now that I have just listened to this speech! BRAVO! Thank you Cousin Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks! I love your enthusiasm and highly talented persona! :) כל הכבוד May you proceed from strength to strength and continue to shine light unto our nation! :)
