Beautiful Story!

This story moved me! Im Yirtzeh Hashem this will teach me a lesson in loyalty. This story was told very well, and brought a standing message. Yasher Koach.

it sounds lovely, but until i meet such a friend, I'll pass on believing this one.

(27) Carl, August 15, 2011 5:11 PM

befriend youself first

You may want to start by being your own friend, such as taking responsibility for your actions.

(26) , August 17, 2010 8:43 PM

May Almighty God bless me with the ability to be such a true friend. Thanks for sharing this message.

This short and simple little story forces one to ask oneself, What kind of, or rather, am I a friend to anyone? Before hearing Rabbi Noah of Blessed Memory tell this story, just maybe our number of friends and those who consider us as a friend has suddenly shifted...

(21) viviane, February 16, 2010 5:18 PM

it teaches me at least 2 lessons, about a power of real friendship and G-d wisdom to empower us in time of crisis not to give up and convince even the king otherwise in our favor and win.

(20) Maja, February 16, 2010 4:15 PM

(13) Anonymous, January 31, 2010 1:54 AM

to no. 4

to no.4 bec like a father who wants his child to live and would give up is life for him so too a good friend like that wanted his friend to live and since they were both true friends they were arguing about who will live.

(12) Robert, January 30, 2010 12:58 PM

I wish real life was like this

Unfortunately in todays society you are more likely to have your friend pull the lever on the gallows than to swap places with you.

(11) Aaron, January 30, 2010 7:17 AM

Why the friend comes back

In my opinion I think the friend offered to kill himself, because he placed his friends life above his own. It seems like a dog, some dogs would place their owners lives over their own and risk their lives to save their owners because they care about their owners that much. If we were all only lucky enough to all have friends like this.

Thank you

(9) Rodolfo Rabonza, January 29, 2010 7:31 PM

make me a third friend

It is like saying, Hashem is there where there is love and unity. He completes the picture. Thank you for the message! G-d bless you!

(8) leah, January 28, 2010 11:29 PM

I like the message

I never heard that explanation at the end about Hashem being the thrid friend. I really like it.

(7) Guy Sutton, January 27, 2010 2:30 PM

What a blessing

This is what I strive to hear and learn all the time, what a beautiful story.... I have posted to FaceBook and have gotten over 125 messages from this alone of positive means.... What a blessing to learn and practice......

(6) Sarah Rut Dulin, January 27, 2010 1:49 AM

I miss Rabbi Weinberg zt'l

I've heard this story many times but hearing from his beautiful voice brought tears to my eyes. How baren are we as a nation without such a tzadek. HaShem should have rachmanut on us and send yeshua, hadracha and koach to cling and live by Him.

(5) nizam khan, January 25, 2010 11:46 AM

very touchy

its too good to believe that such friends do exist.. but if someone has such a friend than indeed he is blessed

(4) moshe, January 25, 2010 11:20 AM

Well done Shoot East !

Once the Rome guy came back, why did the Syria guy want himself to be killed?

(3) chaya yehudis, January 24, 2010 10:10 PM
