Finding my Jewish Soul Mate.

Shabbot Tov Rabbi, Over many years and 4 children later of being non-observent. I wondered why I couldn't find a "Lady" a woman who has a moral compass. Someone who truly loves me. HaShem tells us to not inter-marry with the women of the other nations. I never understood, In fact I was ignorant to these words! I'm still heartbroken and alone. My Nefesh is yearning for true companionship. I have just recently started going to Shul. Just maybe I can find my soul-mate like Moshe did?

Success in Life has to do with Learning TRICKS of the TRADE

Sometimes it is very simple trick in life, that can make all the difference.

We go through life not realizing some of the tricks. Then, one day, we wake up,
to something, simple, perhaps.

PS. Let me suggest the Just Be Yourself video of Avraham Fried:

Thanks, Rabbi Synter.

Houdini and me....

To learn more about Houdini, if you can find a copy of my book published in 1994 called, "Benjilini on Houdini." Indeed, Erik Weiss, Harry Houdini from the name alteration of the French magician "Robert-Houdin" or my name change "Benjilini" from the combination of my middle name Benjamin Houdini=Benjilini it is not the magic itself that has made us "unique" but rather the message given to us by our parents to be a "Mentch!" The constant need to "escape" was with Houdini who is buried at the "Machpelah Cemetery" in Queens, NY as well as with me. ESCAPING to a better tomorrow "free" from pain and hate, but rather allowing us to find ways to bring "smiles" to others thru the "art of magic!" Yes, Houdini was a very charitable man and I continue to do the same for many but that is a "story" in itself. Thanks for keeping the name and legend of "Houdini" alive who passed on Oct. 31st, 1926 at the age of 52, like the number of cards in a "full deck."

No one can do it alone

One more thing if allowed, no one can do it alone. No one can unlock real life doors alone. People should not be pointed fingers at because “opening life doors” isn’t easy at all and those who apparently can were or are helped by others. Seeking the right help to find our way out into brighter days is the most intelligent thing we can do. Anyway this video helped me to think about all this.

Great suggestion

Hi Mario,
That's a very good point. The more support we have the more effective we"ll be in making that change in our lives.
thank you!

Not always.

Many children are also held back by their parents even after the children leave home becoming adults. Many parents slow children development especially their emotional and psychological development by either depriving them of the right family nourishment or overwhelming them with abusive relationships. In my experience and opinion this maybe the most common reason adults are held back from full potential: unfair starts on life at their own homes.

Harry Houdini and the close door

thank you very good not Jewish but practicing roman catholic . My husband Theodore is Jewish but became an athiest in his teen's. So I send these to my husband and the Jewish side of the family who practices their faith on high Holy Days. praying to bring them back to the Jewish Faith . I do not mess with God's choices that I was born Catholic and Theodore Jewish. Just trying to put them back on path.
Love and Prayers

Harry Houdini

The Rabbi should have mentioned that Harry Houdini, whose real name was Eric Wise, was Jewish. It would have been more suitable from a Jewish perspective.

Falling Down and Getting Up

R. Sytner- Ty. Think about "next steps" every day, however there are closed doors holding me back. But are these doors locked? Maybe they can be pushed open? Sometimes feel alone facing my fears. Perhaps a trusted wire and some good knowledge of locks is all that's needed! And, as you say, the right can-do attitude. Resolve that each unfilfilled plan (falling down) will make me stronger next time (getting up)! The Yetzer HaRa wants me to lose hope, to wear me down (laziness etc). Watchfulness and good habits, amongst other things, will help, per Messilat YaSharim by Ramchal. Would be interested in more "never give up" stories.
