beautiful message!

I am a teacher-I've been a student too! The only thing that bothers me, is that we all make our behavior contingent on someone else. It has to be that WE want to be better and behave better. It's shouldn't be the teacher's job to compliment. It's a bonus if the teacher can notice and make her feel good, but each person has to want to b the best they can be, regardless of if others notice or not. Thank you though for the message!

How I understand that girl!!

For some reason my family only remembers when I have been late or forgotten. It sticks with me forever even after the age of fifty. They fail to see the person that has dinner on the table when they want it, arrive to pick them up on time, make sure their requests are fulfilled within amazing time frame or anything else like that. I wish I could send this to them with the hope they could see me in a different light. They would just either ignore it or not see the message. I hug this girl and hope she holds her head up high and reaches great things.

AS JEWISH WISDOM SAYS.......

AS JEWISH WISDOM TEACHES US TO CONCENTRATE ON OUR NEAR & DEAR ONE'S POSITIVE TRAITS & IGNORE THE NEGETIVE ONES. IT IS FROM THIS WISDOM THAT BEHAVIOURAL PSYCHOLOGY THERAPY CALLED 'FADING' HAS EMERGED.

What a nice thought

This is nice and something so many people forget to do. I hope the teacher is informed. Teachers and parents are often the most misguided and clueless about noticing positive change. This is a main reason for children and even adults being labeled and put in boxes from which they can barely escape. I also have a personal question, which I hope is okay. Why did you leave out Jungreis when saying your name? Isn't that a wonderful aspect of your past, present, and future? Do you only use the name in order to help people by reassuring them of your great lineage or in order to honor your parents, but not in other cases? Do your children have both names? Simply curious (I'm going through a situation of how to do my last name).

I don't blame this child for not wanting to go back to school.

Being organized does not come naturally to everyone. There are many adults who struggle with organization/executive functioning. This child's teacher should have praised her for a job well done. I am angry and dismayed on this girl's behalf. Slove--If you should speak to this girl again, please tell her I think she sounds like a wonderfully motivated person.

Bravo

It's about time someone spoke about this. Thank you. Two or three of my children had similar experiences in elementary. Add to that students, who could be anyone's child, being blamed for something completely out of their control (e.g. the parent running late, a sibling with strep or who fell and had to be brought to the ER, an unsigned HW assignment, etc.?
