Educative and all encompassing.

Show cases Jews as friendly people. Loving the Creator and your neighbors.

I had no idea so many Jews were in this one building

I live in a non-Jewish area in the US so the idea of why Jews and Israelis have been so involved was lost on me. I had no idea so many Jews lived in one single building as you described. I have always though of Miaimi as being filled up of mainly Cuban refugees and other Hispanics and non-whites, not necessarily Jewish. So, hearing you today has been eye-opening. And now I understand why those Jewish online friends have been saying tehillim. Also, I'm still mourning the recent death of my husband so I have been immersed in my own grief and dealing with the paperwork involved in my own personal tragedy to even listen to news. Actually, my only news has been from Aish. Thank you rabbi.

Why do .children die

God only knows. Yet, I see God in the rubble of the building. He is the men looking for signs of life at great personal risk. The clergy bringing comfort, the health workers. All those who doing a kindness for the victims.

Disaster Points to the Structural Foundation (Note Torah, Constitution, etc)

Thanks for focusing our attention, Rabbi Sytner.

Clearly, this building had structural problems and there were warnings.

But for our country, now, there are Constitutional, Democracy concerns.
And for Jews, there are concerns about our Torah observances and Emes.
Maybe, we can use the example of this tragedy, during the 3 Weeks, and beyond.

The case for strengthening and testing democracy might use this example.
Similarly, the case for working on our Torah weaknesses can be made.

Recall, the saying, "Remember the Alamo"
Can we afford to forget "Surfside?"

Once again, thank you, Rabbi Sytner. I had no idea about the Jewish factor in this disaster. Anf, yes, all life is sacred, created by HaShem. Given the rise in Anti-Semitism, the attacks on Istarl, and Jews, throughout the Diaspora, and the general malaise of the world, today, though, your insight makes sense.
I guess we're not where we shoukd be. What to do? I'm going to make an effort to focus on Shabbat, better than I have been. Also, going to try to rinse my heart of anger, over the many issues that disturb me.
