you can't even the scale when your choice is negative

I am a psychologist and have a male client who watches porn. I understand that this is really bad for his marriage but he can't resist the temptation. How does your point in this video work for someone like him? Please send me an email.

Study the bible

I belong to a Vietnam vets group and we all have PTSD. One of our members had a similar experience and his wife, who is Christian, convinced him to start reading the Bible. He loved it and now he is no longer watching porn. Hope that helps.

What if the immediate pleasure is junk food itself and that's not healthy?

I was hoping that you would give an example of what other immediate pleasure I could partake of to avoid eating junk food, since the long term pleasure will be a healthier and better looking body. I use self discipline in other areas of my life, and sometimes use sweets to successfully get me through a difficult day or stressful situation, just as you did. But sweets itself are the problem for me. I already try to substitute fresh fruit or low fat popcorn. I'm not terribly overweight but would like to lose 5 or 10 lb. I also need more motivation to exercise. What other immediate pleasure do you recommend?
