Descartes' separation of mind and body

Rabbi- At least partially understand what you are saying. My concern is the separation of our neshama from our body. Similar to Descartes separation of mind and body ("I think therefore I am"). For instance how important is our neshama (vs how unimportant our body is?). While on earth do not the two work very closely together to perform mitzvot that cannot be done after the body is gone? Then harmony between Tue two- not separatin - is the key?

Thanks, you put in words, the thought I've lived with for many years but lacked proper words to express! Finally!

There are 2 Soles

2 soles - Behamis & Elikus - See Tanya 1st few chapters.

Hillel treating his body as a guest may not be the same as emotional mistakes caused by the nefesh habihamis. ie the body and nefesh habihamis are two different items. Although Nefesh habihamis may also be a guest. Hatslochah!

A beautiful truth.

Thank you, Rabbi Sytner, for, once again, using your gift of insight and communication to deliver this message that HaShem, I'm sure, wants us to hear, and understand. This makes our journey easier. Wonderful words.
