Beautifully inspiring and close to home!

Amazing work of art and music; a lifetime's song. My appreciation is only added to by the feeling that I've lived this with you. Hearing your zemirot and tefillot waft up to me from the balcony below, and joining you from window to balcony, neshama to neshama. Knowing that your ability to express yourself as a chazzan and bal Tefilla were held in captivity over this long period, as well as your ability to see your newborn grandson or attend his bris. Even getting to meet Moti Kornfeld who sings so beautifully here, to whom you surrendered your apartment last week for his simcha. This beautiful piece of art reminds me of the comparison of am Israel to the olive; When the Creator puts us in the press, only the finest oil comes out. Yhi Ratzon that fruits like this will put us over the test, and that we'll all see only healing, good health, and happy occasions so that we can continue to use all our strengths to build the kind of world that the Creator had in mind, from the inside outwards.

I Don't Know What to Say

Thank you so much for your eloquent comment and beautiful Bracha! It is only because neighbors like you join in, that the singing has gone from a lone voice in the wind to a melodious community prayer. May we share many good times together!

One of the most beautiful songs I"ve ever heard

Words that leave the soul enter the soul - that's the best way to describe your magnificent, heartfelt song. May Hashem grant you the ability to produce many more beautiful musical productions.

Absolutely!

You really got it. When I picked up my six-week-old grandson, it was the first time I allowed myself to hold him. Although we live not far from our kids, we had to Zoom into the bris. This was a moment I dreamed of, and a precious treasure that it was caught by my son on video.

Beautiful!

Thank you. It's cathartic. I cried for all the beautiful souls who Covid has struck especially Rav Avraham Yeshaya Heber, a true tzaddik who helped so many people receive kidney transplants. His wife is continuing his work through Matnat Chaim in Israel.

Thank You So Much!

I have heard about Rabbi Heber's incredible work, and his loss is among the great tragedies we have seen recently. Your comments just make me feel that much better that we undertook this project. To whatever degree they bring some relief, we are most grateful!

That is so cool!

Wow! I would love to see it. Is it posted anywhere online?
I loved with the cover painting we used when I saw it online, and the artist was kind enough to allow us to use it. Not long after, I bought an actual canvas print of it for our apartment.

JOC

Unlike other aish videos... This Vidoe needs some non-white Jews. Some brown, tan & black-skinned Jews.

Jeremy Staiman, June 16, 2020 6:17 PM

Point Taken

Thanks for your comment. Any blame goes on me, not Aish -- they were just kind enough to post it on this forum. After finishing the music, we worked on this video as an afterthought with essentially a zero budget. So the live footage is mostly family members and a friend or two, supplemented by some stock footage, and we used what we could. We will try to be more conscious of including more of the diversity of the Jewish People in the future.

Excellent with the exception of . . .

. . . the technical, production segments. They were a distraction and did not enhance the spiritual gist of the song.

Thanks for the Feedback

Hi Phil,
I appreciate your comment. This was my first music video, so I may have erred along the way, by including those shots. Definitely gives me food for thought for the future!

Thinking of You!

Reb Yisroel! A little digging tells me that you are now at Aish, which sounds like a great place for your talents and your love of Torah. I have thought of you many times over those years, and asked about you. I think of you when I pass by Netzach Yisroel while driving through Rechavia (which I actually did just yesterday!). It would be great to reconnect. I'm at jstaiman@staiman.com
