Security concern

Today's terrible event in Halle reminded me of the heavy security in major synagogues in Germany (like this one) in general, and in particular on the Yomim Noraim (High Holidays). I'm not saying the story did not happen like this, but if it did, security staff in charge possibly would have serious questions to answer.
Disclaimer: I grew up in that community and synagogue, but moved away before Chazan Greenwald arrived.

Too late

If he arrived after neila he would have been too late even the day before to hear kol nidre. Story doesn't make sense.

The man doesnt know better. He said this is his only connection. Instead of saying you are too late, the chazan gave him a second chance

1. Timing doesn't make sense to me. If he arrived 30 after Maariv, he surely would have missed Kol Nidrei even if he got the date right! 2. The "actor" playing the "lost Jew" is actually the Gabbai/Shammes of the Shul :-) 3. Another rendition of the story by R. YY Jacobson:

Very powerful!

This beautiful video touched me on many levels. Initially I responded to it as the daughter of a mother with dementia. As th video continued, I realized it had deeper meaning, telling us that there is always a way to connect with HaShem.

A beautiful message.

Rabbi Gold's videos always give me a 'chill' and make me reflect. The Side Door is a wonderfully inspiring video. Yasher Koach to Rabbi Gold for delivering the message and to Cantor Greenwald for his mitzvah.
