The Chosen People

The Jews: The Chosen People. Chosen by G-d to suffer one holocaust after another, to see their children burned alive. What an honor and a privilege to be among the Chosen. I guess they are paying their way to sit at the right hand of G-d. Will they remember what they have paid? Will they remember the gaunt fear in the eyes of their husbands and wives or the screams of their children? Or does G-d mercifully obliterate their memory as well? Mortal man can never know the answers to these difficult questions. He can only believe in G-d`s benefience and wait for Moshiach.

God is not the puppet master

I agree with the other commenters: to suggest that the Holocaust was God's punishment of the Jews is almost obscene in my understanding of Judaism. To conceive that God created Nazis to inflict on Jews as punishment is to conceive of a sadistic and punitive God.

This was a very disappointing video.

I am not comparing the September 11 attacks to the destruction that took place during the holocaust. Watching this video, caused me to think of all the questions that people asked after the attacks.. G-d was blamed. Why did He allow this happen?!? I know G-d was crying when the planes flew into the Twin Towers. G-d gave the passengers the strength to fight the terrorists on the plane that crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. G-d was holding up the side of the Pentagon up with His hand, so more people could escape. G-d watches us when we are hurting and Is crying right along with us. The G-d I know doesn’t want to see His people hurting. A long time ago when I was little, I asked my father why does why does G-d allow people to get hurt and die. Dad said G-d doesn’t cause pain. G-d didn’t let the holocaust happen, He was right there with us crying.

Yes Gd was there, but...

I 100% believe Gd was there - and would never dream of judging those who do not believe that, especially survivors, BUT to say that the Holocaust was a "punishment" is incredibly inappropriate. It assumes you know the way of Gd, which is the height of arrogance. Sorry rabbi.
