Matot-Masay (Numbers 30-36 )

"These are the journeys of the Jewish nation" (Numbers 33:1). As the Jewish nation is poised to enter the Land of Israel, the Torah recounts 40 years of their travels in the desert. It's interesting that some of the places aren't referred to by their names, but rather by the events that occurred there. Most of the places described this way are places where the nation made major mistakes.

The message could be that the ability to pick ourselves up after stumbling is more important than the fact that we fell. We are all traveling through life, and hopefully all of our stops along the way will be good, but some of us may fall at times.

The Torah seems to emphasize that ultimately what's important is that we keep striving to reach our destination and that we gain the ability to look upon our failures as the impetus to further growth and achievement, and not as the end of our goals and aspirations.
