See Shofar Forward and Backward (Sounds and Threats?)
This wonderful video got me thinking about the message of the Shofar. We can see it forward and backward.
Forward, we can have a series of blasts, repeated, over again.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Backward, we can see it as a weapon, a threat used by an animal.
We may prefer to hear the message, repeated, again and again, and not the frightening threat., in order to change and wake up.
(I wonder what the commentaries say about this for the Shofar)

Shofar Wake Up Call and the Power of Ceremony
Why does the Shofar wake this man up? I think part of the reason is ceremony. Every day, in Elul, we blow Shofar. It is a special ceremony, with its own holiness. We know the Shofor blowin is special in Elul and we try to wake up to it.
The Shofar has its own special energy to wake us up.
Perhaps, we can wake up to other things, with some ceremony and some practice, in the new year. THANKS MUCH H
