Very Nice Video But It Doesn’t Even Scratch the Surface

This was a very nice video tribute but it doesn’t even scratch the surface of who Eugen Gluck and his wife Jean were. My mother knew both of them from before the Shoah and was friendly with them until she passed away in 2006. I worked summers and winter breaks at Armitron from 1981 through 1986. You couldn’t do justice to the greatness of this man if you made ten movies about him. His legendary commitment to charitable causes, his many kindnesses to unfortunate people, his friendliness and his warmth can’t be described in words - you had to know him to experience it. But of all of his attributes, his greatest was his modesty. He was very successful in business and was known worldwide but to talk to him or be with him Shul, was like being with any other ordinary person. Eugen never held himself as being better than anyone else - he loved his employees, he loved his friends, he loved everyone. As generous and philanthropic as he was, that’s how modest he was. I knew him personally and there was never a time that I met him that he didn’t greet me warmly and with genuine affection. Eugen was a tzaddik, plain and simple, and Jean was a true Aishes Chayil. I consider myself fortunate to have known them.

Congratulations to the filmmaker - a world-class production which managed to both beautifully pay tribute to an exemplary human being, tell a wonderful story, and simultaneously, you disappeared. Totally immersive, and so moving. Well done.
