Very true

I grew up in small South Georgia town my father from Brooklyn and mom Russia. We were told to set examples as Jews we were watched. Do good in school respect your Jewishness and not hide from people knowing that you were a proud Jew.

During college breaks from Carnegie Mellon University I was substitute teaching in a middle school in Burlington, N.J., when a black student through a dime on the floor in front of me. I asked him what he was doing. He got embarrassed and told me about money hungry Jews. I told him that he couldn't do that anymore. This took place about 1967.
