Life is too short and precious to be against someone just because they believe and/or look different. We are all human beings, no matter what color of skin, or background.

Let's continue to examine this from a very broad perspective

Three adjectives come to mind here: terrorism, hatred and ignorance.

(35) Shirlee Rosenthal, March 28, 2015 4:32 PM

It is said that those of us who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Let not this happen. Our people went through it and the blacks went through it in the Civil war. Let us all be children of one G-d and lets not be afraid of the differences in other's. As Debbie Friedman sang Not by Might and not by power but by Spirit alone can we live in Peace. Teach the future by teaching the past but teach for the future to unite, not divide by hate

(33) Mary, March 23, 2015 10:29 PM

This must end

G-d created all people and it to Him that all life belongs. There is no excuse to destroy a life because one does not approve of what the person is; they are Hashem's creation.

(32) Scott Postelnek, March 22, 2015 11:39 PM

As Abe Lincoln said "all men are created equal"

Today we are all men & women are created equal. If hate is fueled nothing good will come from it. We must all stand up for are sisters & brothers regardless of Color or creed. We must be children of God . Act as we know that there is no exception to equality. God forbid we falter in any sircomstance

(31) Ian Marshall, March 22, 2015 9:26 PM

Race or religion?

A recent TV programme in UK considered real racial`facts` as against stereotypes, notably the `Pakistani` rape gangs operating in many UK cities. (5% of Pakistanis are Muslims. Rape is not a race thing; it`s a Muslim thing.

another petition worth signing

I agree with the need to stand up to this crazy Gobal Threat to Civilization. Here is another important petition (on the White House site) I think we should sign.

(29) Esther, March 21, 2015 8:19 PM

Israel has always been accep ting of ot he rs

Today all the racism is aimed towards Israel. Israel is a place where everyone has a say.

(28) brenda & mendel meyer, March 21, 2015 9:47 AM

Lets make this world a better one for all and stop this horrendous hatred

This is not the way Hashem created man to hate each other. Lets make this world a better one for all of us our children and grandchildren. Stop the needless killing of innocent civilians and the poaching and killing of all of Hashem's creatures

(27) Anna Schiffer, March 20, 2015 10:30 PM

Stop racism and genocide

Let's unite and stop this new evil rising.

(26) Anonymous, March 20, 2015 9:42 PM

Terrorism not Racism

Stop making everything about race. Jews are murdered and you say it's racism. Terrorists are killing Christians in Syria and you call it racism? Does it always come down to race for you? It's terrorism against anyone who is free. Freedom knows no distinction of race.

(25) Eric Brand, March 20, 2015 1:53 PM

Great idea and good intentions, but...

I don't know who the young woman is in the video, or whether she's Jewish, but she is a courageous and forceful speaker, so I applaud her. While I disagree that anti-Semitism and Islamic terrorism equate with racism, it is correct to say that the common thread is hatred, and we must all fight it. But the video would be far more effective -- and more accurate -- to portray the civil rights struggle as being more than just black people striving for black freedoms. In fact, it was a struggle by all good Americans for the soul of this country, through the emancipation of blacks, who were unfairly oppressed. Jews took a lead in this, and most of the white Freedom Fighters were Jewish. We stood against injustice, just as this young woman is doing, regardless of skin color. The antidote to sinas chinam (senseless hatred) is "senseless" love, i.e., standing up for others when we have nothing to gain -- except improving the world God gave us.

I appreciate this venue.

(23) Barbara Dagen, March 20, 2015 1:09 PM

Terrific video!

Terrific video!

(22) Tom, March 20, 2015 12:20 PM

Bravery. Some comments part of the problem.

This woman is brave. She encourages me to press toward doing good in my "microscopic" part of God's World. One day He will have each of us stand before Him and give an account for our lives, even the "microscopic". To highlight the differences between the similarities of racism and intolerance/hatred as some comments are doing is pathetic.

(21) Anonymous, March 20, 2015 3:23 AM

racism and antisemitism are both bad.It doesnt matter who is the speaker of this video. She did her best to do a good job.We definitely have to put a stop to what isis is doing. Its not right what has happened t innocent people, If we dont help people who are suffering because of this extreme group then whos going to help us G-D forbid i t should come close to us.I would like to sign petition but why do i have to give my email.

(20) igor bartolic, March 19, 2015 10:43 PM

I love Israel because is the best.Hashem bless All who love Israek.Shema Israel from Gentiles who love Torah.

(19) chana, March 19, 2015 10:16 PM

why did you have to call this "the new racism"?

I really don't like the fact that they had to frame this video as concerning racism, when that's really a distortion. And I like it less that it's coming out of the mouth of a black girl. I wonder if she honestly feels like racism is parallel to Islamic extremism.

Leah, March 20, 2015 12:48 AM

I think you really missed the entire point.

First, this isn't any ordinary "black girl". You should do a little research and then you'd be ashamed of yourself. Second of all she is a friend who happens to be using different histories to bring a point across.
Unfortunately, you sound like a bigot.

Miri, March 20, 2015 1:27 AM

The black girl you mentioned is one of the most moral, courageous, outspoken, intelligent, decent supporters of Israel, Jews and Truth ever to walk the planet. She is a blessing.

sientje Seinen, March 20, 2015 5:43 AM

re racism

I totally agree with you, as sometimes there is just as much racism in black people towards white people, Islam has nothing to do with racism, It is the radical part of Islam that causes problems.

Anonymous, March 20, 2015 6:28 AM

I agree.

It seemed very odd to me too. I don't think the new evil is racism, it's pure hatred of anyone and everyone. Also, a black woman speaking about it doesn't really make sense.

Anonymous, March 20, 2015 6:47 AM

Racism in only in the minds of those people who wish it to be. they must look at the bigger picture and see what is actually happening . they are to quick to cry racism. why is it that the people who want to to right by our God who greated hevaven and earth are now called racism. when the people they think are innocent are actually doing the harm and killing.

Shlomo, March 20, 2015 11:11 AM

Anti-Semitism is Racism

Not only is anti-semitism racism it is the old and most deeply rooted form or racism. Simply calling it racism isn't even enough, it needs it's own name. Jews are attacked and murdered simply for being Jewish. It doesn't matter if they live in Israel or France, are right-wing or left-wing, religious or secular, rich or poor, or someplace in between. Jews are Jews and people hate us for being Jewish.

JT, March 21, 2015 4:22 PM

Yes, anti-semitism is old and deep rooted, but Jews are not the only victims. Blacks, Hispanics and Asians are hated just for being a part of their own race also. Do these groups need their own name? Let us not esteem one race above another, racism is racism no matter who's race is the target. So let's not hate the messenger that calls it out. Let's just embrace the solidarity that the Black Woman encourages.

Zadick, March 20, 2015 2:39 PM

why does it matter?

and what if that black girl is a jew? Would it make a difference? Try to see the world from Hashem perspective, its very different.

(18) Talia, March 19, 2015 9:33 PM

Nobody Cares!

People in the USA love their fast food, technology and CNN. People don't care who burns or gets beheaded. anti Semitism is on the rise. But nobody says so. Worse, nobody cares, We only hear from if that was racism.

(17) SusanE, March 19, 2015 8:52 PM

You can't

You can't. You can't. Extremism in any form doesn't go away. Bringing it to light in media incites other like minded people. Then extremists as in racism go underground, breed, grow stronger and rear their heads again. Hatred and freedom can never coexist. Which nations always go to War? The ones that hate.

(16) scott, March 19, 2015 7:52 PM

my take on it.

Racism isntvthe problem. Fear and scarcity is.

I grew up in Texas. I knew folks in the Klan. Its an interesting little community. This is how it works. One very bright charismatic person who is ignored by everyone in normal society-usually cause hes a jerk-realizes that there are these ignorant scared people that feel themselves I'll served by the world. This one guy figures out he can be the leader if he gives these sad ignorant angry people someone to hate. Someone to blame. Blacks, jews, latins, catholics...heck red headed left handed golfers would do just fine. And it works. Does that guy actually believe the crud he's preaching? Not usually. He's the smart guy. He's getting attention and respect and money from these simps and that's what he's after. Why are there fewer people in the Klan now? Because life is on average better economically. Because there are a lot more sources of information so its harder for that one guy to isolate people intellectually and emotionally.

Its how it works everywhere.

You think the leader of Hamas really believes that Jews kill children to make matzah? You think he really thinks Jews are out to kill Arabs? You think he really believes in the quaran? Not a chance. Hate is his gig. He gets P-A-D-E to be a hate monger. If jews ever actually went away he'd have to get a real job.

The sad stupid people killing and getting killed in jihad are never the leaders. They're never the rich guys. They're the angry poor scared people who have bought into hate because they feel powerless otherwise.

Its not race. Its not religion. Its money and power. And a petition ain't changing that.

Larry, March 20, 2015 7:01 AM

It's racism,

Racism: the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races
I've. Seen videos on TV showing very young students watching cartoons filled with hatred and false things for Jews in grade school.

(15) Annette Weisberg, March 19, 2015 7:29 PM

ALLracism must end

yes, racism must end!! However, that includes racism towards Palestinians which unfortunately seems alive and well.

Alan S., March 20, 2015 11:42 PM

For sure, but...

Who is racist towards Palestinians? Easy answer: Islamic extremists!

(14) etta Lipsey, March 19, 2015 6:26 PM

This is real talk!

Lets put an end to racial injustice!

(13) Boruch K, March 19, 2015 6:22 PM

I am against this petition

It only says that leaders should stop islamic extremism. But world leaders will interpret this as forcing Israel to make concessions to Palestinians. Instead it should tell world leaders to stand by Israel and protect Jews against those who seek to destroy them; and that Israel should not have to make land concessions that endangers its citizens.

(9) Anonymous, March 19, 2015 5:30 PM

let's get involved. We can all make a difference when we stand together for justice, equality and freedom.

Our basic human rights and freedom is being violated and jeopardized.. We must get involved. We must protect and prevent such hatred and violence worldwide.

(8) Sheila LyonHall, March 19, 2015 5:17 PM

First Steps ...

Signing the Petition is a meaningful positive FIRST Step.

(7) Rina Tziona, March 19, 2015 5:11 PM

Get your words right - This is NOT racism!

This is religious intolerance. It has nothing to do with either race or nationality. People of many races and many nationalities are victims of Islamic religious intolerance. Call it what it is; religious intolerance. NOT racism!!

(6) John Nocera, March 19, 2015 4:57 PM

Racism is deplorable and there remains no place for it in G-d's world.

Next step?

How do you propose to do this?

(3) Anonymous, March 19, 2015 3:50 PM

Major setback in racism

My generation marched for civil rights in the 60's. Great stride have been made and this was becoming an issue of the past until Obama came to office and stirred it up again with his lies.

(2) Rivka, March 19, 2015 2:58 PM

In your face, says it like it is. The graphic-ness of the pictures and clips also helps bring out the message clearly. IS there a link to the petition?
