That was simply UNBELIEVABLE. I’ve never heard that perspective & am blown away by the concept and analogy.

guilt created fear of separation

were they not in fear because they disobeyed G-d and anticipated punishment - which in fact they did receive

I am working in an office across from a older woman who is very sarcastic, bullying, controlling and critical. I have been very careful not to engage her in any controversy and to avoid conflict. This just gave me a real boost I really enjoy these discussions because it equips you to deal with the real challenges of life. Thanks!

fear and illusion

Wow...the world is full of persons' seeking guidance and here I have it in the faith of Abraham/ Issac and Jacob. i praise G d in his wisdom for us...it is plain to see who it is that desperately cover's the wisdom of G d in secular society...it is also plain to see who has guided me to Aishe ...there fore it is not an illusion i have been brought too after all these decades of deciet in the kingdom of man...all the best to the rebbs and the Rabbi's who placed these pages here for the dis..illusioned and shalom from Canada.

great video

Phenomenology is the study of “phenomena”: appearances of things, or things as they appear in our experience, or the ways we experience things, thus the meanings things have in our experience. This video shows this concept in action. Is the cup half full or half empty? It's up to you to decide.

Great Explanation!!

I never linked illusion or perception with the Adam and Eve story. Perception of Reality, exactly! Similar to rational fears vs. irrational fears. Rational fears save lives. Irrational fears based on perception can stunt progress and happiness. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Even more reason not to listen to Media news, Media weather, Media advertising. Thank you for the video.

G-d still walks with us outside the Garden

I think we can go even further, in saying that what are truly rational fears for most people, need not necessarily be fears for us if our perception of reality includes a strong Presence of G-d, which affects our perception of the world and our perceived needs. We have perceived our "nakedness", but believe that G-d still walks with us outside the Garden.

Sounds like a "Rabbi" I used to know.

Most Rabbi's I know are adept at dealing with people. I don't know how a controlling, screaming rabbi can even have a following. Works for some as some still go there. Not for me and most people. One catches more flies with honey than vinegar.

Deep. I'm drowning

I sort of understand what is being said but only vaguely - so vaguely that I couldn't explain it to anyone else. Wish I had graduated past Gilligan's Island.

simply put according to my limited understanding...

What changed the moment the forbidden fruit were eaten? 1) Were Adam and Eve naked before...and naked after? (yes to both); 2) were they at that moment still in the garden of Eden? (yes to both before and after); 3) Did G-d or His proximity to them change in any way before or after eating it? (no to both before and after.) So what changed? Their perception. That is all. i.e. how they PERCEIVED the same reality. But the reality had not changed in anyway. They simply lost their INSTINCT to persue good and to flee from evil. The fear was induced as a result of altered PERCEPTION of the identical reality. Now go watch the video again. A student who reviewed his lesson 100 times cannot be compared to one who reviewed it 101 times...you will get it...go check.
